Alpha Archousa, Charisse R. Lillie, to Lead Community Investment Initiatives at Comcast Corporation
Comcast Corporation, the nation’s leading provider of entertainment, information and communications products and services, announced today that Charisse Lillie has been named Vice President of Community Investment and Executive Vice President of the Comcast Foundation, effective immediately. Lillie previously served as Comcast’s Vice President of Human Resources and will report to David L. Cohen, Executive Vice President, Comcast Corporation.
“I’m very pleased that Charisse has accepted this exciting opportunity,” said Cohen. “Charisse is highly respected within the community and has worked for decades as an advocate and leader with many non-profit organizations in Philadelphia. She led Comcast’s human resources function during a period of unprecedented growth in our workforce, and will now focus her strong leadership and vision on building our national and local community investment initiatives.”
In her new role, Lillie will assume overall leadership of Comcast’s community investment program, including corporate and Foundation charitable giving and all of Comcast’s national community partnerships with organizations such as United Way, City Year, the National Urban League, National Council of La Raza and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Working alongside Comcast Foundation President Joe Waz, her proven leadership will play a prominent role in helping to build a national reputation for Comcast’s community investment initiatives. Last year, Comcast’s charitable support exceeded $180 million. The Comcast Foundation provided $12.7 million in grants to more than 500 local non-profit organizations and other charitable partners across the country. In addition to Comcast Foundation support, the Company has also provided almost $154 million of in-kind contributions (mostly in the form of televised public service announcements) and $13.5 million in cash contributions were distributed to more than 1,500 organizations.

Lillie, who joined Comcast in 2005, is the recipient of numerous honors, including the 2007 Paragon Award from the Philadelphia chapter of the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), the 2007 Liberty Award from the Greater Philadelphia chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), the 2007 Operation Understanding Outstanding Service Award, and the 2007 Philadelphia Magazine Trailblazer Award. She is a member of the Forum of Executive Women and is the former president of the Board of Juvenile Law Center. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Howard University, and the Board of Directors of the Franklin Institute, the American Arbitration Association, and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. Lillie is a past Chair of the American Bar Association Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity and a former Chair of the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. She served as a Trustee of Friends Select School from 1994 to 2002 and from 2003 to 2006, serving as President of the Board of Trustees for two years. Prior to joining Comcast, Lillie served as a partner in the law firm of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, in Philadelphia from 1992 to 2005 and was Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department from 2002 to 2005.
The Houston, Texas native received her B.A. in 1973 from Wesleyan University, cum laude; her J.D. in 1976 from Temple Law School, Dean’s Honor List; and her LL.M. in 1982 from Yale Law School. In 2005, she was awarded a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA.
