Alpha Mu Boulé Initiates Two Prominent Citizens

The members of Alpha Mu Boulé combined their annual party with the initiation of Dr. Wesley Ball and James E. Carter III, son of Archon James E. Carter, Jr., D.D.S.

Dr. Ball is a practicing physician serving on the Memorial Hospital Board and Staff of Savannah, Georgia. He serves on the Boards of the Local chapter of the NAACP and the Board of Directors of Carver State Bank. He is married to Patricia Ball and is the father of four children.

James E. Carter, II is a graduate of Paine College, Augusta, Georgia with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a minor in Social Sciences. He holds a certificate as graduate of the U.S. Army Medical Specialist School and Methods of Instruction Course. He received the Master of Education degree at South Carolina State College, Orangeburg, South Carolina, and has done advanced study at several other institutions of Higher Education.

He was employed by the Richmond County Board of Education as a teacher of General Science, Health and Physical Education, and Coach for 13 years. He served as Instructor of Anatomy, Philosophy, Pharamacology, First-Aid and Medical Procedures, and Troop Information Specialist in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve.

He was an Eagle Scout, received the Outstanding Performance award as Business Manager of school newspaper, award as outstanding Richmond County Board of Education as a teacher of General Science, Health and Physical Education, and Coach for 13 years. He served as Instructor of Anatomy, Philosophy, Pharamacology, First-Aid and Medical Procedures, and Troop Information Specialist in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve.

He was an Eagle Scout, received the Outstanding Performance award as Business Manager of school newspaper, award as, outstanding Coach in winning two city basketball championships and one in football. Cited as Coach of first post-wide champions in basketball at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, U.S. Army, Soldier of the Month award, Professional Science Branch, Medical Training Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, U.S. Army; Teacher of the Year Award, 1966, Levi White School; Delivered the Key-note Address 7th District Meeting of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., 1969; Ordained Elder of the Christ Presbyterian Church 1970; Elected President of the Belair Hills Association, July 1973.

Married to the former Judy Carolyn Luchey, Teacher of English, Richmond County School System. Father of two sons: James E. Carter, IV, age 12 and Mason Johnson, III, age 11. The Carter Family resides at 1528 Flagler Road, Augusta, Georgia.

Assistant Director in the Division of Student Affairs. He is Director of Minority Student Affairs at the Medical college of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia 30902.
