Carolyn Olivia Atkinson

Miss Carolyn Olivia Atkinson, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Nolan N. Atkinson of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and Alpha Boulé, is a graduate in the class of 1962 from Vassar College. She has been awarded a Vassar College Fellowship for Prospective College Teachers for graduate study of Sociology in the Department of Social Relations at Harvard University. Miss Atkinson has also been awarded The Virginia Swinburne Brownell Prize for the senior having the highest rank in Political Economy.

During the academic year 1960-61 Miss Atkinson was a member of the Student Curriculum Committee, and during the academic year 1961-62 she was Student Intern for the Department of Sociology at Vassar College. Last summer she was a Government Intern in the Wellesley-Vassar Government Intern Program in Senator Joseph Clark's office for six weeks and later served as Research Assistant for Prof. E. Franklin Frazier at Howard University.

Miss Atkinson has been awarded, but declined, a Scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania and an Assistantship to New York University, both for graduate study in Sociology.
