DMC Names Archon George Shade, Jr., Iota Boulé, to a Major New Role
On Wednesday, December 8, Detroit Medical Center (DMC) has announced a new role for top medical executive, Archon George H. Shade, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.O.G., F.A.C.P.E.
Archon Shade, DMC Specialist-In-Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology has been named Executive Vice-President, Chief Quality & Safety Officer. He will assume his responsibilities on January 1, 2011.
Archon Shadehas been practicing medicine at the DMC for more than 36 years and is a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology. He is senior medical advisor and chief of OB/GYN for Sinai-Grace Hospital and Chairman of the Board of Medicine for the State of Michigan. Archon Shade is a graduate and faculty member of Wayne State University School of Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Archon Shade has received numerous honors and awards including being named one of America's Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists by Consumer's Research Council of America in 2009 and several HOUR Detroit Top Docs recognitions. He is the Immediate Past President of the Wayne County Medical Society of Southeast Michigan (WCMSSM), a board member of the Michigan State Medical Society and the WCMSSM. As the Chief Quality and Safety Officer, Archon Shade will be charged with coordinating system-wide activities and incentives designed to improve quality of care and increase patient safety.
