Reprinted from The Boulé Journal, Volume 40, Number 3, Summer, 1977
On Sunday, May 28, 1977, a large crowd of friends assembled at the Colony Park Inn, Germantown Avenue and School House Lane, Philadelphia, Penna., from four o'clock to seven, to celebrate the golden anniversary of Dr. Archon and Archousa Russell Minton, Sr. The affair was hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Russell Minton, Jr.
The two hostesses for the reception were Mrs. Weaver (Lucille P.) Blondin and Mrs. Allen (Hallye) West. After being welcomed, the guests then passed through a receiving line which included the honorees, their grand children, hosts, their daughter and the parents of Mrs. Minton, Jr.
The walls of the room displayed photos of some of the memorable moments of the couple's marriage. Movies were also shown of some of the many cherished events and travels of the two.
The event had an intimate, warm and relaxed atmosphere because there was plenty of laughter and conversation among the guests. Everyone who attended the affair thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Archon Minton is a member of Alpha Boulé.
