Samuel M. Nabrit (Nu Boulé)
Archon Samuel M. Nabrit, President of Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas, received his B. S. degree from Morehouse College, his M.S. degree from Brown University, and his PhD degree from Brown University. The former professor and chairman of biology department and dean of graduate school at Atlanta University, Archon Nabrit assumed the presidency of Texas Southern University in 1955. A great scientist (having had ten years of experience at Woods Hole Laboratory) in addition to his period of teaching service, Archon Nabrit is the author of many publications, holds membership in many professional organizations, and has been the recipient of many professional honors. Probably one of his greatest recent honors is that of having been nominated in May, 1956, by President Dwight D. Eisenhower and confirmed by the Senate to serve a six year term on the National Science Board. Married to Miss Constance Cooper of Boston, Massachusetts Archon Nabrit shares with Archousa Nabrit the marriage bliss of 27 years.
